John has conducted his seminars and courses in several Irish Rape Crisis Centres and in dozens of Primary and Secondary Schools throughout the country. Currently he is planning a tour of the Country's 3rd Level colleges and is due to begin a specialised course for the Sligo Rape Crisis Centre in November.

 John Brawn is a fully qualified instructor. He is the Irish Director of the US's Rape and Assault Awareness and Prevention Organisation.
|
One out of three women will be the victim of an attempted/completed rape or sexual assault at some point in her life.
70% of rapes reported occur in the victim's or another person's home.
Over 80% of all rapes are committed by someone they know to the victim.
Most rapes/sexual assault occur between people of the same race and similar social position.
Of the women who resisted, 81% said that it helped the situation by allowing them to escape, scare off the offender, or avoid greater injury.

You will learn:
how to recognize potentially dangerous situations and avoid them. to assess situations quickly and respond decisively. the different types of offenders, their unique characteristics, and how best to handle each one. verbal and physical tools to end an attempted assault and get to safety. safety tips to use when at home, traveling, driving, shopping etc. This course is unique in Ireland as John Brawn is the country's only certified rape awareness instructor. The course utilises a revolutionary new protective suit, The Blue Maxx to act out extremely realistic attack situations but the primary objective of this course is to teach you awareness techniques to help you avoid any potentially dangerous situations.
